The manufacturer has declassified the technical characteristics of the Baojun Yep Plus SUV

SAIC has declassified the performance characteristics of Baojun Yep Plus. Let us remind you that this is a five-door version of the Yep. The latter has been on sale since May 2023 and has already become a bestseller in the class.


To build on the success and stir up customer interest, Baojun brand management has prepared a larger SUV suitable for family recreational trips. It is still unknown when the car will go into mass production. But, judging by the complete declassification of appearance and performance characteristics, this will happen soon.

In China, the three-door Baojun Yep is called a copy of the Suzuki Jimny. Since the Japanese “brother” has a five-door version, the Chinese also decided to release the same modification of the car.


Baojun Yep Plus only looks like the brutal Suzuki Jimny. In fact, this is a typical all-terrain kei car. It can be called a crossover, but not an SUV.

Firstly, the car is built on a chassis with a monocoque body. Secondly, this is an electric car. Thirdly, the car is rear-wheel drive - there are no 4x4 versions and there never will be.

But the appearance of the crossover turned out to be excellent. Baojun Yep Plus will be offered in five colors - white, black, grey, blue and green. All shades will be cast with varnish.

Despite the five-door layout, the electric car turned out to be quite compact. Its length is almost 4 meters with a wheelbase of 2,56 m. This is 618 and 450 mm, respectively, less than the three-door Baojun Yep.

The car is four-seater, there was even room inside for several bags. To emphasize the “adventure” nature of the electric car, it was even equipped with a roof rack in the basic configuration. It’s not expeditionary, of course, but it’s similar, even though it’s made of plastic.


The interior is quite spartan. But not without an electronic dashboard and a multimedia system screen. They are identical and measure 10,25 inches. There is a set of driver assistance systems while driving and when parking. We haven’t forgotten about all-round cameras.

Externally, Baojun Yep Plus copies a three-door modification of an electric car. The drive is rear-wheel drive, and the ground clearance is not encouraging - only 150 mm. So, despite its appearance, it is more of a city electric car.

The car engine is located on the rear axle. Its power is 75 kW (102 hp). They promise a range of 401 kilometers on one charge.

The cost of Baojun Yep Plus is not yet known.
