Instead of Iveco Trakker, Hongyan trucks are now produced in Russia
There are much more Russian car manufacturers than is commonly believed. It’s just that they usually don’t include collectors. KAMAZ, Ural, GAZ - it seems that there are no more brands in our country. But back in the 90s, the Uralaz-Iveco enterprise began operating. As the name suggests, they assembled Italian-made trucks. And not only that, but they also modified them. In 2009, the plant was renamed JV IVECO-AMT. And until recently, this company did not complain about the lack of customers. Economic sanctions against the Russian Federation have confused the cards. Of course, Iveco did not intend to leave our market, but it had to. Otherwise, they would have been blocked from selling in the EU and the USA. They sacrificed the Russian market, which is not so large.

As it turns out, sanctions can be circumvented. Now the IVECO-AMT JV is working in collaboration with the Chinese brand Hongyan. And the plant is called AMT N.V. Essentially nothing has changed. The trucks are still assembled and they are similar to Iveco. And this is not just like that, because the Chinese manufacturer also cooperates with Italians. And their trucks are Iveco Stralis, adapted for the Middle Kingdom. Of course, the AMT N.V. plant Far from being a full-cycle manufacturer. But this is not just a large-scale assembly. In Russia, trucks are modified for our realities.
