AvtoVAZ is going to increase the production of CVT versions of the Lada Vesta. Accordingly, the production of cars of this model with manual transmissions will be reduced.

Interestingly, the next car to receive a CVT transmission in the same ratio will be the Lada Granta. Ideally, they also plan to bring them to a value of 50/50. But there are several nuances here.

Firstly, the Lada Granta is often bought only because it is the most affordable new car in Russia. Secondly, they plan to replace the model with the Lada Iskra in the future. They are going to keep “Granta”, but only as the most affordable alternative. Does such a car need a CVT gearbox, and even in a 50/50 ratio?

As for the “top” two-pedal Lada Vesta cars, their small-scale production started at the end of February this year. All cars received 1.8 Evo engines.

Logically, new injectors should increase fuel consumption, but AvtoVAZ is modestly silent about this. But now the pistons do not meet the valves when the timing belt suddenly breaks.

AvtoVAZ representatives said that the engine was modified specifically for a CVT gearbox. Therefore, both units are perfectly “joined”.
