Jeep Wrangler says goodbye to 8-liter V6,4 engine – Final Edition introduced

The Jeep brand presented a limited edition Jeep Wrangler Final Edition. These are the last cars of this model, which will be equipped with naturally aspirated V8 engines with a volume of 6,4 liters. In addition to engines, SUVs will receive a number of design features.


Naturally, it will not do without special nameplates on the body and in the interior. They will tell everyone around that this is not a simple Jeep Wrangler, but a special Final Edition series.

Interestingly, the 8-liter V6,4 engine began to be installed on the Jeep Wrangler only in 2021. It turns out that the “friendship” of this power unit with an SUV was short-lived.


In addition to special design features, limited-edition Jeep Wrangler will also receive a full set of accessories from Mopar. All of them are designed to improve the vehicle's cross-country ability.

3 Final Edition Jeep Wrangler will be produced. Their price is already known - in the USA, dealers will ask almost 700 thousand dollars (100 million rubles) for cars.

It is not difficult to distinguish the Final Edition from regular Wranglers. They will receive special graphics on the hood and fenders. The wheels are also original - in bronze color and with the Beadlock system. The latter protects the tires from turning even with minimal pressure.

The SUV interior will be offered only in Nappa leather. Naturally, the material is natural, which the “greens” obviously will not appreciate. Final Edition nameplates in the cabin were placed on special plates and the gearbox selector.

Thanks to a Mopar suspension lift kit, ground clearance has increased by 13 mm. And now it is 295 millimeters - this inspires respect. And the off-road potential of the Jeep Wrangler is complemented by power bumpers, a winch and underbody protection.

Under the hood of the special version of the Final Edition there is only one engine version. This is a V8 with a volume of 6,4 liters. The engine develops 477 “honest” horsepower, without turbines and compressors. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in just 4,5 seconds.

The car has only four-wheel drive. Transmission – automatic, eight-speed.


By the way, purchasing a Jeep Wrangler Final Edition is the last opportunity to own a brand SUV with a V8. Models of the Wagoneer series, for example, are no longer produced with such a power unit. A powerful naturally aspirated V8 replaced the turbocharged V6 Hurricane.

The Dodge Durango also lost its V8. The farewell series of such SUVs was released in January 2024.

For now, the 8-liter turbocharged V6,2 still remains in the lineup of American manufacturers, but its days are numbered.
