"Patriots" will become "cooler"

"Patriots" will become "cooler"
The press service of the Ulyanovsk automobile manufacturing enterprise spoke about a major modernization of the production process associated with the production of the popular UAZ Patriot SUV. Namely, the changes affected the stamping equipment, and this should significantly improve the quality of individual car body parts.

Thus, the innovations affected the stamp designed to stretch the front doors of the car, so that the gaps between them and the wings will now be as uniform as possible. New clamps for the body frame were also milled. This will ensure a tighter fit of the windshield to the A-pillar and minimize squeaks in the interior trim.

Key changes include a new die for the front floor panel, which improves the overall geometry of the body base and its rigidity. In general, the set of measures taken should bring the ergonomic characteristics of the model to a qualitatively new level.

However, not all car enthusiasts consider such optimization sufficient, and express different opinions on this matter:

Did the joyful customers really “scream out” that they were heard? Well, at least this way, better late than never.

- says Vladimir from Penza

If plant management believes that such belated quality changes will change the sales situation, that is their right. If you look at what the “Chinese comrades” offer for the same money, it’s clear: the pipe is no good even with ideal clearances.

— Peter Vasilievich from Tver shares his opinion

In addition to the gaps, the Patriot would do well to update the steering rack, and I would also like a diesel engine with good low-end traction. Yes, a lot of things, the model has long been outdated, and is becoming as irrelevant as the old UAZ.

— Evgeniy from Krasnodar complains

I personally am happy with the Patriot, except for its poor corrosion resistance. 5 years after purchase, I had to weld it under the driver’s seat, but the car is excellent, durable, and inexpensive to maintain.

— Nikolay Ilyich from Volgograd shared his ownership experience

That is, the plant reported that they successfully made the changes that were supposed to take place after the release of the first series of cars. Well, with such efficiency, we can hope that the “Patriot” of the 2120 model will be able to please with trim levels with different engines, interior colors, and you might even think of releasing a seven-seat version.

— Igor from Belogorsk dreamed

I wonder if such an upgrade will increase the competition of “Patriot” against the background of a host of Chinese “brutals”? But the news that Ulyanovsk is finally thinking about the quality of the assembly cannot but rejoice. If only I could wait until the prices are “dumped”, and then I’ll definitely buy one for myself.

— Evgeniy Aleksandrovich from Astrakhan shares his plans and summarizes.
