The engine from a chainsaw is compact and relatively powerful, as Russian DIYers are aware of. And therefore such a motor can be seen on a wide variety of designs, most often used in everyday life. But it’s one thing, for example, to make a drill based on a chainsaw engine, and another thing to adapt it for...flying in a homemade helicopter. Why not?
The engine is revving and can easily handle the weight of the structure and a person. All that remains is to make the frame, propellers and arrange a place for the pilot. This is exactly what the enthusiasts did in the video from the “Channel of Prohibited Technologies.” And now the helicopter is built: the first launch in itself is already a risky business. You have to be careful not to hit it with the screws. But, being careful, they started the chainsaw engine, and it immediately began to gain momentum.
Will the “whatnot” really fly? However, the “designers” nearby assure that all technologies and aerodynamic principles were observed. Well, all that remains is to check what has been said in practice. The riskiest person present sits in the “pilot’s seat”, the rest wisely move away. Meanwhile, the main and tail rotors begin to spin faster. Will it fly or not? Watch the video!
