The new regional Russian aircraft Il-114-300 is undergoing full-scale testing
A prototype of the Il-114-300 airliner has begun testing. While the elements of jogging and taxiing are being worked out. The first flight will take place soon.

Let us recall that the IL-114-300 began testing at the end of 2020. Then the plane was equipped with TV7-117ST-01 engines. The engines turned out to be unfinished, but the airliner still passed a series of tests and began flying.

In August 2021, a prototype Il-112V aircraft caught fire in the air. This showed that the TV7-117ST-01 motors are frankly “raw”. To prevent the situation from repeating with the Il-114-300, the project was “frozen.”

And now the tests have resumed. The country needs regional airliners, and the Il-114-300 turboprop fits this role.

TV7-117ST-01 engines have been modified. Now they meet all safety standards. Restrictions on speed and flight altitude have been removed from engines.

Let us recall that the Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the Soviet Il-114. The airliner is capable of carrying up to 68 passengers. It is important that the plane is 100% Russian. It does not depend on supplies from abroad.

Work on launching a turboprop airliner into series began by order of the President of the Russian Federation in 2016. The head of state noted that the communication between regions in the country is extremely poor - the situation needs to be changed radically. Therefore, Russia needs a new domestic aircraft.

Modified TV7-117ST-01 engines are capable of providing the Il-114-300 with a flight range of up to 1,5 thousand kilometers. This includes 68 passengers on board.

Motors are produced by several enterprises that are part of the UEC concern (United Motor Corporation). Domestic electronics control the entire system, including the propeller. This distinguishes the power unit from its foreign analogues. After all, in most cases, their electronics are responsible only for the operation of the engine.

Il-114-300 is capable of achieving a cruising speed of 500 km/h. Modern navigation, by the way, is also 100% domestic, will allow you to operate the airliner even in the most difficult weather conditions. This feature will help passengers reach their destination on time. Of course, force majeure remains, but natural disasters in Russia are rare.

Passengers of the Il-114-300 turboprop will be provided with comfort at the level of mainline airliners. While refining the aircraft, the designers tried not only to make it more reliable, but also to reduce noise and vibration.
