It is known in what volumes the second generation Cobalt is going to be produced. We are talking about 150 thousand cars a year.
Already from the estimated quantity it is clear that the manufacturer hopes for sales to neighboring countries. After all, small Uzbekistan, with its rather modest standard of living of the population, is simply not able to “digest” such a number of cars.

It is easy to guess that Uzbek businessmen are counting on Russia. And people will be happy to buy such cars from us. Moreover, this is a Chevrolet, and not a “Chinese”. Although, if you look at it, these Chevrolets have more in common with the Korean auto industry than with the American one.
As for the second generation Chevrolet Cobalt, it is a good budget car. Its success components are a simple naturally aspirated gasoline engine, automatic transmission and reliable suspension.
Of course, the model has its own “tricks” that cause slight bewilderment. For example, a sedan’s trunk of 545 liters will please those who like to travel to the country. It’s just that its lid has no trim and no closure handle – that’s strange.
The 1,5-liter engine develops 106 hp. With. The timing belt is chain, so there are no problems with reliability. But the engine speed at idle often “floats”. It doesn't interfere with driving, but it is annoying.
It can be “treated” by adapting the throttle valve if we are talking about a new car. If it has already been driven, after which the problem manifested itself, then you will have to clean the unit.

The power unit is easily converted to gas. By the way, the manufacturer directly speaks about this. Whether it’s worth doing this depends on the average daily mileage. If it exceeds 100 km - definitely yes. If, of course, you recognize gas as an effective fuel. Many Russian drivers are categorical on this issue.
The suspension usually works flawlessly. But you shouldn’t expect any feats of ergonomics from it - it’s a typical “average”.
The automatic transmission does not raise any questions at all. At least Russian owners of the second generation Chevrolet Cobalt do not complain about it.
By the way, Cobalts are still sold in Russia. The cost of cars without mileage starts at 1,69 million rubles.
