The latest generation of Bridgestone tires have passed pre-production tests

Tire giant Bridgestone has been working on an experimental product since 2008. Industry partner companies were involved in the process. And here's the latest news: the optimal compound has been developed, the design is ready. The tires have passed numerous bench tests.


The rubber has also been tested in real conditions on surfaced tracks of varying difficulty. After this, the products were demonstrated to the public. The new series is called Bridgestone Air Free. Indeed, such a solution has never existed in the tire industry. The tires are made of flexible and durable polymer.


One can only guess about the quality and components of the rubber mixture. But the audience has already seen the bright blue elastic knitting needles with their own eyes. The head of the company's technical department, Oliver Monbet, explains: specially shaped rubber strips serve as a shock-absorbing layer. A thin but more durable replaceable protector is stretched over them.

The spectacle of intricately curved spokes is mesmerizing. The manufacturer assures: blue elements are visible on the road at any time of the day in any weather, including at dusk and fog. Airless tires are a motorist's dream. The tires are not prone to punctures, absorb impacts well and redistribute heat. The service life will increase multiple times, because there will be no wear associated with uneven air pressure. Well, away with compressors, repair kits and endless trips to the tire shop!
