A broken crankshaft or camshaft is usually thrown away or scrapped. But not where it is shown in the video (looks like India). Young vehicle owners, without any hesitation, go to send parts for repair. Obviously, the idea of throwing away this “junk” and buying new components for the engine doesn’t even occur to the guys! How should you drive like this and where in order to manage to “drive away” a heavy and thick thing in this way? Well, this is an unanswered question: I’m sure there are no less “steep” breakdowns in Russia.
Where will all this be repaired? The imagination pictures a reputable car service center with high-quality equipment. Nothing like this! Everything will happen almost on the street. True, it is impossible to say that everything is done “on the knee”, although the sledgehammer is present and used more than once. And the machine is clearly not cheap.
Meanwhile, the process starts: the master takes seemingly incompatible parts and begins to “conjure”. Broken and protruding elements are carefully sharpened, everything is tried on and adjusted to size. However, the instruments are unsophisticated: it seems that even a micrometer is not used, and a caliper is not visible in the footage. How will the repair work end and how will the turner fit the broken parts together after turning? If you want to learn, or even gain experience, watch the video on the PK Process channel!

Soviet truck cranes did not have an impressive boom reach, but were still valued at construction sites. Of course - they made manual work tens, or even hundreds of times easier...
