Russian URAL-6507 is being prepared for production
It has become known that the Russian manufacturer of trucks and special equipment JSC URAL plans to launch mass production of a new model of the Arctic road train number 6507. This promising vehicle has reportedly already passed all the planned stages of testing and will go into production this year.


The load capacity of the presented vehicle is about 9 kg, with a total weight of about 500 kg. The new product is designed for operation in conditions of critically low temperatures, with a maximum limit of -29°C. This became possible thanks to the heating system, which “entangles” all elements of the fuel system of the road train, including tanks.

An interesting feature is that in addition to the high-pass 6X6 wheel arrangement of the tractor, there is a semi-trailer with an active electric drive. It connects in difficult areas and seriously increases the traction of the road train.

The power increase is about 98 hp. s., and the drive is powered by nothing more than an on-board diesel generator with an output power of about 100 kW.

It is quite ergonomically located in the rear of the semi-trailer and can also be used as a mini-power station to power external devices - lighting, household appliances, communication equipment and heating systems. The latter is especially relevant for organizing temporary accommodation points during emergency response.

In addition, the road train has an electric winch with a thrust of about 8 tons. It will allow the crew to independently overcome the most impassable sections of the route. Also, the URAL-6507 can handle any fords with a depth of 130 cm, and the cruising range with stationary fuel tanks is 500 km.

Despite the fact that the road train is designed for rough terrain, it can be adapted to the conditions of public roads. To do this, it is enough to replace the road tires and remove the body kit elements that protrude beyond the dimensions allowed for highways - this possibility is provided for in the design.

The cost of the road train has not yet been announced, but there is no doubt that this equipment will be in demand on the Russian market.
