Why the piston moves, what else is happening inside the engine - all this arouses curiosity. But it seemed impossible to look at the process: we had to be content with diagrams, or, at best, video animation. And now a solution to the problem has been found: the Chylo Racing channel kindly provided a video where a light motorcycle is equipped with an engine enclosed in a transparent case. The same is true for the gearbox.
The enthusiastic guys had to try hard to find the material suitable for this purpose. Its name is not mentioned, but it is obvious: it is some kind of heat-resistant composite. For the experiment, we took a standard production motorcycle like our “Minsk”, from which the block and its head were replaced. The parts were carefully adjusted to the piston (re-machined) using a template from the factory units (they had to be cut - they didn’t regret it!).
Even the process of making transparent parts looks beautiful: you can see how the drill slowly enters the block. And now everything is ready: you need to assemble the unit and put it on the motorcycle. So what? All that remains is to jerk your foot on the kick starter and start admiring the real picture of the internal combustion engine: the piston moves, flashes appear and disappear - beauty!
