Everyone has heard about the cars of the German concern Volkswagen, but what about trucks? Many people have probably not only never seen this type of transport under the VW brand, but also didn’t know about it. Meanwhile, if such cars are not found in Europe, this does not mean that they do not exist. Let's just take a look at sunny Brazil.
Volkswagen trucks have been assembled in this distant South American country since 2005. And this is not some half-forgotten model, but a whole family of vehicles with a gross weight from 13,2 to 57 tons (as part of a road train). Here are trucks that travel long distances, dump trucks, regular flatbed vehicles, platforms and other equipment options with a variety of wheel configurations.
The design, of course, cannot be called super modern. But, apparently, Brazilians are of little interest in this. The reliability of the car is more important. It’s interesting: the plant that produces all this equipment belongs to MAN. Why then are heavy vehicles produced under a different brand? It would be more logical to use the owner's brand: after all, it is more famous for its trucks than Volkswagen. However, Brazilians have a completely different reasoning style than Europeans.
