T-240 - an innovative hybrid tractor made in Russia

The Russian tractor, in the minds of many city residents, is something outdated, with Soviet roots. And even that is no longer in production. And if it is produced, then rather in spite of everything. It’s just that machines from the USSR are reliable and repairable. They say that they are already 50 years old or more, but they work - this is technology. And when a modern tractor comes across the field, it is definitely a foreign model. Previously, they were brought from the EU countries and the USA, but now China supplies us. They say that the T-150K and Kirovets are being made somewhere, but this is not certain. And Belarusian MTZ is still holding on. If it weren’t for him, after the introduction of economic sanctions, Russian farmers would have driven only models from the Middle Kingdom.


Few people try to find out the truth. And there are far more than one tractor plant operating in our country. They are developing, modernizing, releasing new models. One of the “fresh” developments is the hybrid T-240. Outwardly, he doesn’t look very good yet, but this is temporary. The main thing is that the model has an electromechanical transmission. This means that the engine under the hood is diesel, but is not connected to the wheels. The motor, through the generator, charges the running battery, which then powers the electric motors. So fuel consumption is less. By the way, the technology is far from new - it has been used on mining dump trucks for a long time.
