Russian-Belarusian aircraft "Osvey" - latest details about the project

The head of the planning and industry department of the State Military-Industrial Complex of Belarus, Mr. Stefanovich, revealed details about the joint Russian-Belarusian project to create a 19-seater aircraft, which was named “Osvey”. According to him, production will be organized in two countries, while the full cycle of manufacturing new aircraft will be established at Belarusian enterprises.


The development of a new twin-engine aircraft is being carried out from scratch, and at this stage there is active preparation - the construction of workshops and the purchase of necessary equipment. As previously reported, the readiness of the first two units of new equipment is planned for 2026. In 2027, the certification stage of Osveya is expected to be completed, and already in 2028 the aircraft will enter commercial operation.


In total, by 2030 it is planned to produce about 100 units of new air transport. Since, according to some reports, there are already orders for these aircraft, it is possible that production volumes will increase.
