Hyundai Solaris production will be restarted in Russia

An automobile plant in the Leningrad region, previously owned by Hyundai, will again begin producing Solaris sedans. This was stated by the AGR distributor, which belongs to the Art-Finance organization and has access to both the enterprise and warehouses with components.


Of course, they plan to produce the cars under a separate brand, albeit with a similar name. They have visual and technical similarities with the Solaris and Creta cars from Hyundai (HS and HC models, respectively), and with the Rio and Rio X-Line (received the names KRS and KRX).


The AGR enterprise, where production will continue, is a facility previously owned by the South Korean company HMMR, purchased by the Art-Finance organization. She has recently owned a large automobile plant near Kaluga, formerly owned by VW.

According to preliminary information, the warehouses previously owned by Hyundai will have enough parts to produce tens of thousands of full-fledged cars. All of them will be subject to further sale on the basis of the wide AGR dealer network under the Solaris brand.
