The MS-21 cockpit glazing will now be made from Russian materials

It is planned to produce twelve sets for Russian aircraft by 2024. This is a pair of front, side and rear glass blocks that are resistant to collisions with birds. The products consist of durable silicate material and polymer film. They have integrated heating coils that prevent freezing and fogging. All components used are made in Russia.


According to the head of ONPP “Technology” A. Romashkin, the supplied glass blocks meet the requirements of design documentation and guarantee the safety of crew members. A department of a scientific enterprise, NITS im. V. Solinova.


ONPP "Technology" is known for its optical products for aviation and is actually the leader in this area nationwide (45% of the market). By 2030, the company plans to increase the production volume of glazing kits for MS-21 to 70 per year. The successes of ONPP in this area are confirmed by the official rights to thirty objects that have received the status of intellectual property. Three developments were encouraged by State Prizes of the Russian government. In addition to glazing, Tekhnologiya supplies sound-absorbing structures, polymer fillers, panels for PD engines and much more to Russian aircraft factories.
