Igor Ilyin, who holds the position of chief. engineer at UEC-Saturn, noted that the created alloys help to implement the technical characteristics originally laid down in the PD-8. The introduction of new generation blades will occur without any major changes in the production process.
Nickel-based materials developed by UEC are characterized by heat resistance and long service life. Ilyin added that the new alloys can be used in the future to create other, more powerful aircraft engines.

The priority area of activity of UEC-Saturn is the creation and integration of the latest alloys into the design of aircraft engines. This is the only way to make Russian engines competitive in the world market.
