Moskvich cars will begin to be assembled in full cycle

Good news from the capital's Moskvich plant - the first batch of crossovers has been assembled according to a new, full cycle. This means that there is little time left before the implementation of the method. And most importantly, this is the first step towards localization and import substitution.


Let us remind you that for now Moskvich crossovers are produced using the large-unit assembly method. If you look at it, this means delivery of vehicle kits from China. To get a full-fledged car, you only need to assemble it.

You don't need any high qualifications for this. The work can be done by ordinary drivers in a garage after consultation or with the help of videos from the Internet. The process is popularly called screwdriver assembly.


But the full cycle is a completely different matter. This is almost factory production, at least the first step towards it.

The starting batch consists of 50 cars. They have already been checked for build quality and tested. It turned out that there are no flaws - the technology can be implemented.

And this will happen in the next few months - the press service of the Moskvich plant spoke about this. As soon as the small-unit assembly is fully implemented, the large-unit assembly will be abandoned.

What does this mean if you understand the nuances? For example, now the Moskvich 3 car is assembled from 50 parts. After the introduction of small-unit assembly technology, there will already be 900 of them. It will be necessary to use robotic welding equipment and train personnel. All this will turn Moskvich into a full-fledged plant, where they will not hire employees “from the street.”

By the way, new robotic welding equipment has already been installed at the enterprise. It was with his help that we managed to assemble the first batch of crossovers.

The new technology will make it possible to produce Moskvich cars with a black roof and any color of the rest of the body. Of those, of course, that are available in the line. There are five of them so far, but they promise to diversify the palette.


By the way, the spray booth has also been tested and adjusted. The equipment is made in China - this means that there will be no problems when using paints and varnishes from the Middle Kingdom.

Let us remind you that serial production of Moskvich 3 crossovers started in November 2022. In December, the gasoline model was joined by an electric car with the 3e index. As for the Moskvich 6 liftbacks, they began to be produced in September 2023.

Closer to summer, the plant plans to launch production of a new model. This is the mid-size crossover Moskvich 5. A seven-seat large SUV with the index “8” was promised to be presented before the end of this year.
