“Cargo” VAZ-2109-F - this model was planned for mass production

AvtoVAZ made a sharp leap in the mid-80s - it released a new line of front-wheel drive models. Then they “went in” - the majority of suffering citizens switched to Ladas. This means that they began to sign up for the “Nines” and “Eights”. But not everyone liked the latter - what kind of car is it, with three doors. Looks like “Zaporozhets”! Although there was also a Niva, it was somehow not compared with a product from ZAZ. However, all the cars in the USSR were sold out. Even “Zaporozhets” couldn’t be purchased just like that—you had to sign up for a waiting list.


Everything changed in the early 90s when the Soviet Union collapsed. Suddenly, previously scarce cars were no longer in demand. Used foreign cars from Europe poured into the country - they were cheaper than new Russian models, and in terms of comfort and power they surpassed them many times over. I had to urgently come up with something. This is how the strange experimental van VAZ-2109-F appeared. Although, it was more likely a station wagon with a high roof. Another experimental model, the VAZ-2108-F, looked more like a classic passenger van. None of these cars went into production. Nothing strange - the carrying capacity of such a “Nine” was only 50 kg. True, it accommodated 5 people. But then VIS semi-frame vans appeared - they were already produced in small series.
