The city of Izhevsk is one of the main “forges” of the Soviet motorcycle industry. Here comrade Petr Vladimirovich Mozharov created unique creations. Few people know that the history of motorcycles in the USSR did not begin with German models and equipment exported in 1945 as reparations. We had our own stories, interesting ones at that. The most talented engineer Pyotr Vladimirovich Mozharov created a line of experimental models in different cubic capacity. Among them were both light and heavy motorcycles, eclipsing even BMW and Harley-Davidson. True, only one, medium-sized model, and not one of those experienced ones, went into production. But in the end, the Izhevsk Motor Plant became the largest manufacturer of two-wheeled vehicles in the USSR. By the way, Izh Planeta was produced until 2007 inclusive. Then they repeatedly tried to revive the production of motorcycles, but nothing good came of it.
And there are still enthusiasts in Izhevsk. They are trying to resume production of motorcycles. And they succeed! Meet SCOUT SAFARI-4 - an off-road bike. This is an all-terrain vehicle with tires with developed lugs. And it is mass-produced. Moreover, there is not just one model in the line - there are many different ones. And the author of the channel “#WONDERFUL TECHNIQUES with Georgy Belov” will tell you about this interesting motorcycle.
