We are rooting for ours: fierce “cans” against foreign cars on the roads

On New Year’s Eve 2024, the author of the “Don’t Brake” channel gave a gift to fans of our dear, domestic automobile classics. The video blogger organized an off-road competition of not cool jeeps, sophisticated all-wheel drive SUVs with lowering, blocking and stubs. We've seen enough of these. Alexander Ivanov gathered for an amateur off-road event the owners of Russian cars on the one hand, and foreign-made crossovers on the other.


Among the participants from our auto industry: “Priors” and “Kalinas”, the fearless “Niva 4x4” and the uncompromising “Loaf”. But the audience was especially worried about the ancient rear-wheel drive IZHAK and the Zhiguli Seven. The worries, however, turned out to be in vain: both “Moskvich” and the good old “Semyon” were not disgraced. Soviet “veterans” flew onto slippery hills along deep ruts, as if on wings.

Skoda, Volkswagen, Toyota, Hyundai competed with our evil “cans” at the training ground near Tver. Technically the forces seemed unequal. But isn’t it strength of spirit and stubbornness that wins? The half-hour video will bring a lot of pleasure to those who remember Soviet automotive history and respect Russian cars.
