Modernized GAZ-69 – conversion for Kazakhstan
Nostalgia for the “good old days” often results in a desire to breathe new life into one of the automobile models of the past. It’s interesting that enthusiasts are doing this in many countries around the world, but only in the post-Soviet space has the process acquired a special meaning. After all, all these “Volga-Muscovites” represent a long-gone country and era. Moreover, today there is no trace of most of the enterprises that produced cars in millions of copies during the Soviet era. So there is every reason for such troublesome alterations and they are valued much more than some restored Mercedes or Lincoln limousine.

At one time, the Gorky Automobile Plant was considered the clear leader of the industry. After all, not only the most powerful production cars of the Union of the Volga brand were assembled on it, but also the government “Seagulls”. And the product range of the enterprise from Nizhny Novgorod was quite extensive. In addition to trouble-free medium-duty trucks, legendary jeeps were also produced here, first for military and then for civilian purposes. The eight-seater GAZ-69 entered production at the end of the summer of 1953. Later it was joined by the five-seater GAZ-69A, positioned as a vehicle for agriculture. More than 20 years on the assembly line and universal love have led to the fact that they are still trying to use these veterans for all sorts of alterations. You can see one of these examples in the video from the NVA-Motors channel.
