If we add water to fuel, will the power increase?
There has been talk for a long time that water supplied to the combustion chamber increases engine power. Moreover, mainly at the “everyday” level. Some believe that thrust increases due to the transformation of liquid into steam, others think that water splits into hydrogen and oxygen: in general, there are plenty of opinions. What's really happening? The experimenters from the Garage 54 channel did not scientifically substantiate this hypothesis - they simply tried to find out everything in practice.

We put “kopecks” on the engine: we start with the “primitive”: we simply pour water into the combustion chambers. The revolutions have dropped a little, “dips” have appeared, but the engine continues to work! If you stop the water supply, some kind of clicking noise appears in the sound of the motor, i.e. there are changes. But what happens if the liquid is supplied not through a “dropper”, but using a nozzle? Let's try. However, all this is checked at idle speed: it is advisable to find out how the engine will operate while running, under load. Well, let's go outside and pick up speed. First, we also supply water through a “dropper” from a bottle. To the surprise of the driver and passenger, the detonation disappeared. Now we spray water with a nozzle - and through the gases. What will happen next and what conclusions came from the experiment, you will learn from the video - watch the video!
