All-electric Peugeot e-308 will appear in 2023

The all-electric e-308 will hit the market during the second half of 2023, according to manufacturer Peugeot. The start of production of electric cars is scheduled for July next year.


The new Peugeot e-308 in the 2023 version of the model year will receive a battery capacity of 54 kWh, which is 4 kWh more than the younger version of the e-208. Improved battery technology will allow the electric car to cover up to 400 km on a single charge. Interestingly, a similar battery is also used in the design of the e-2008 and Citroen e-C4 models, with the latter having a range of only 350 km.

car will be available in a front-wheel drive version with an electric motor of 154 hp with a torque of 269 Nm. Quite modest, but not bad for the city. The situation may change if the model waits for the debut of the new eVMP platform, which will take place in 2023. The capabilities of this basis are much higher compared to EMP2, taken as the basis for the Peugeot e-308.



The all-electric model will be available to authorized Peugeot dealers in both the sunroof 308 and the SW station wagon. Batteries will be located under the seats and in the bottom of the car, and the rest of the equipment will find its place in the engine compartment under the hood.

The configuration and spaciousness of the rear compartment is similar to the hybrid version of the Peugeot 308. Electric car buyers will get the same “sleek” and high-tech interior. A 100 kW fast charger will be supplied with the machine.

Deliveries electric car The e-308 will begin production next July. Peugeot will release pricing information for the new model closer to its launch date. It will be interesting to see where it fits in, given that it will compete with both the plug-in hybrid 308 and its combustion-engined siblings.



According to Agnès Tesson Fage, Peugeot's branding representative, sales of the e-308 electric car are planned to generate at least 20 percent of the funds for the entire model range. This is quite an achievable bar, considering that the plug-in hybrid already accounts for more than 20 percent of all revenue. It will probably have to wait at least a year to see similar results for a new electric car.
