This is a running layout. First, the manufacturer showed renderings, and then demonstrated the concept live. As it turned out, this is quite a popular layout. The car moves independently on public roads.
It’s just that we couldn’t see how it flies. Most likely, this point will need to be improved. But the rotors with screws, hidden in the roof, appear quite confidently and rotate the propellers.
Here you can already see how the roof begins to rise. Photo: Youtube.com
Let us remind you that Xpeng AeroHT was founded in 2013. The first flying car was introduced to the public a few years later. It looked more like a drone than a classic car. Only the sixth generation of experimental models turned out to be more traditional.
Externally, the Xpeng AeroHT looks more like a two-door sports coupe. Judging by the design, the manufacturer paid a lot of attention to the aerodynamics of the body. It doesn't even have exterior mirrors or protruding handles.
The engines are hidden on the roof. There are 8 of them, they are doubled in pairs. They promise that serial production of the model will begin in 2024.
