BMW M8 2022 - comfort that is worth the money

The 8 BMW M2022 is the flagship coupe from the Bavarian automaker and has successfully taken its place as one of the fastest cars on the market. The novelty is not only fast, but also extremely comfortable, including due to adaptive suspension settings at the touch of a button. What else interesting can we see in the exterior of the technical part of this machine?


It should be noted that the BMW M8 is available in several body styles. A two-door coupe for those who appreciate top speed, a four-door Gran Coupe for those who need more space in the cabin, and a convertible that will fully satisfy the passion for fast driving without a top. In this review, we will pay special attention to the two-door, which is on a par with the Porsche 911 Turbo, Bentley Continental GT and Aston Martin DB11, and find out what exactly it deserves a place in this lineup.

Exterior

In comparison with the previous generation, the appearance of the coupe has not changed much, however, several new interesting elements can be observed on the body. Especially eye-catching:

The 8-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo petrol engine with outputs from 8 to 530 hp is responsible for the high speed and rapid acceleration of the new BMW M625. The engine's capabilities are sufficient for everyday driving, as well as for extreme races.



All-wheel drive is implemented in the form of a patented M xDrive system and is equipped with an active type of differential. This is due to the excellent grip with the road surface, regardless of the quality of the latter. Acceleration dynamics is excellent in all conditions, and even on the race track. The high controllability of front-wheel drive and the maneuverability of rear-wheel drive are combined in one machine.

Suspension

Of no less interest is the adaptive M suspension, which allows you to set the optimal parameters for specific driving conditions in one movement. The system monitors the condition of the road surface and adapts the damping force. Three modes are provided - COMFORT for everyday driving, SPORT with a rigid suspension and SPORT + for races on the track. An effective braking system is represented by carbon-ceramic discs and calipers.



A huge torque of 750 Nm is transmitted to the wheels through an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. It supports multiple shift modes. The driver can choose which configuration to include at one time or another - for comfortable driving or dynamic acceleration. If you want maximum control, you can switch to manual mode. There are several electronic assistants at the disposal of the driver behind the wheel of the BMW M8. Among them:

Competitors

Compared to the Porsche Grand Tourer, the novelty from BMW is less responsive in handling, but noticeably outperforms the competitor in engine power and interior comfort. The engine "roars" throughout the entire rev range, while Porsche's good sound is heard only at high revs.

Compared to the Aston Martin DB11, the coupe has fewer advantages. It is clearly inferior in terms of design, since the competitor's interior and exterior are more "smooth" and attractive, although this question is extremely subjective. In terms of dynamics, the BMW is slightly superior to the DB11 due to the more powerful internal combustion engine.

How much?

MSRP for the 8 BMW M2022 two-door is $141. Given the characteristics and capabilities of the car, this is considered an average and quite justified price. The cost of other versions also fluctuates around this mark.

Draw conclusions

The new BMW M8 gives the driver amazing acceleration and guarantees high safety. The car is equally well suited for everyday driving, and for extreme races, almost all important parameters can be adjusted for specific operating conditions. There are also disadvantages - compared to competitors, the coupe is larger and heavier, which somewhat restrains its capabilities in terms of acceleration and maximum speed. Other than that, it's a decent choice for the money.
