Which of the villagers does not remember the legendary "magpie" that the Lipetsk Tractor Plant assembled from 1961 to 1995? This is perhaps the most successful model that the company has produced in the amount of 1 million 196 thousand pieces. However, no matter how good the T-40 was, by the 90s it was morally obsolete and was replaced by the LTZ-60, which got on the conveyor at the most inopportune time - 1991.


Already in 2004, the plant went bankrupt and on its basis the Lipetsk Tractor company was created, which became part of the Tractor Plants concern, which in turn has been part of Agromashholding since 2006. In 2009, most of the workshops were closed, the rest were rented out. LTZ-60 is one of the latest models that was still popular. What kind of car is this, claiming to be no less common than its predecessor?

Purpose and modifications


The equipment is universal and can plow, cultivate, and perform other agricultural operations related to the cultivation of crops. With the appropriate equipment, the tractor is used by public utilities, for transporting goods, in construction. In total, the enterprise produces several modifications of the LTZ-60 with various additional indices:

✅ A - differs by a small D144 diesel engine of 60 "horses" from the Vladimir plant, air-cooled
✅ AB - with a power unit (MTZ) developing 57 hp with., liquid cooling and a clutch with ceramic overlays, extending the life of the transmission by 1,5-1,8 times, characterized by an increased load capacity of up to 900 kg
✅ AB - this machine is equipped with a D65M1L engine manufactured by the Rybinsk enterprise, the tractor has an enlarged cab and a modified power steering
✅ AB-10 - especially multifunctional version
✅ AB-01 has a low height, which is necessary when driving inside workshops, old-type farms

The power plant is started by a powerful starter of 4 watts. On the one hand, this ensures a good start in cold weather, on the other hand, it forces you to constantly monitor the tight fit of the contacts.

The onboard power supply is provided by a 700 W generator with a rectifier and a voltage regulator. Unlike its predecessor T-40, LTZ-60 has good stability and ease of operation. The car uses a band brake system that works equally on all wheels. Therefore, stopping abruptly on a slippery road is highly discouraged!

The LTZ-60 has an interesting feature declared by the manufacturer: the new machine does not require running in, it can be immediately “launched” into business at full capacity.

The tractor is aggregated with 120 types of attachments. These are not only plows, cultivators, potato harvesters and seeders. You can attach a bulldozer knife or a sprayer, a water tank for street irrigation, or even an excavator hitch to the machine.

The operation of additional equipment is provided by a hydraulic system, which includes a pump NSh-32U, which delivers 51 l / min “at the exit”. at the highest pressure of 20 MPa.

The front end is connected automatically, when slipping in mud, snow. In other circumstances, only the rear axle works, which has a positive effect on fuel consumption.

The tractor is equipped with a mechanical reversing box, designed for eight speeds. There are two clutches in the gearbox: the main one with one disc, the second one is additional, working independently of the PTO. By the way: on models A and AB, it has an extension cord and two speeds - at 540 and 1000 rpm.

Each axle has its own differential: the front one has two satellites, closed, the rear axle has the form of a double clutch with a ratchet mechanism. There is a creeper. Forward LTZ-60 can move in the speed range from 0,67 to 30 km / h. Back - from 2,15 to 5,96 km / h. With a load of 0,85 tons, the car consumes up to 8,98 liters of fuel per hour. The tank holds 70 liters. Dimensions and weight of LTZ-60:

Thanks to the high ground clearance, the tractor can easily pass through many obstacles, which is especially important, for example, when working in forestry.

Cabin


Compared to the T-40, of course, there are differences. The internal equipment of the operator’s workplace is provided with a comfortable microclimate due to the tightness of the “salon”, the heater, which is adjustable for different operating modes in the cold season. Cabin walls are finished with sound and vibration absorbing materials. For ventilation, you can use the vents on the sides. The tractor has a large glazing area, which allows you to clearly see the condition, the work of trailed implements and eliminates the appearance of "dead" zones.

The steering wheel (hydrostatic control) is adjustable in tilt (five rigid options) and height. The seat back can also be adjusted. Under the workplace - shock absorbers that compensate for shaking when driving through bumps.

On tractors of modifications A and AB, the wings, hood and roof are made of fiberglass, which prolongs the service life of these elements.

Features of operation


LTZ-60, like its predecessor, is unpretentious in maintenance and has a long service life if routine maintenance is carried out to change lubricants, etc. in time. The tractor has a high maintainability: access to almost all units and assemblies is optimal. Machine operators also note the disadvantages that appear during operation. First, this is not a powerful enough engine on some modifications (it is better to buy a tractor with a D-65 power unit) and, as a result, a relatively “weak” hitch.

And the clutch basket taken from the previous T-40 model can also cause trouble. On the LTZ-60, the loads increased, but the assembly remained old, which leads to deformation, and even failure of the fixing bolts and studs. Because of this, overheating of the box is also possible. Some owners partially redo the transmission by installing a disc from MTZ. Also, machine operators note the inconvenience of using one pump, which works both for the steering system and for the hydraulic system. However, in the 90s, the tractor was popular, and then they did not pay much attention to the shortcomings. Yes, there was no alternative.

Today


It is obvious that the shortcomings at the plant could be eliminated and produce more advanced models, if not for bankruptcy. On the official website of the OJSC it is indicated that the enterprise does not work and does not produce tractors. Instead, employees are engaged in the sale of equipment produced by the Vladimir Tractor Plant.

Price


A new car manufactured by LTZ ​​in 2009 cost 1,8 million rubles. If you look at current prices, we can say that, despite the shortcomings described above (yes, what kind of equipment does not have them!), LTZ-60 is in demand, because its prices are quite high. Do not forget: LTZ-60 is a Soviet-made technique! For a car manufactured in 2000 with a hinged knife in front, they ask for 335 thousand rubles. And a tractor manufactured in 2003, with pumping equipment for pumping water, costs 699 thousand rubles. In general, prices for LTZ-60 of various modifications and release dates range from 300 to 700 thousand rubles.
