Aptera Motors showed a pre-production solar-powered electric car

American startup Aptera Motors has finally demonstrated its "solar" electric car. In addition, the engineers shared the technical characteristics of the novelty. All this is done in the hope of attracting investors. This project should be of interest to them, because the minimum power reserve of the novelty is 402, and the maximum is 1 kilometers.


The Aptera electric car is presented in the Launch Edition version. This is the second set of four that will be available for order. Her power reserve is 644 km. Serial production is expected to start at the end of 2023. But at the same time, there is a reservation that Aptera Motors must collect the necessary amount for the full launch of the project.

All modifications of the electric car, as well as the presented Aptera Launch Edition, will be identical in appearance. They are based on the Delta tricycle chassis. This is the fourth version of the "trolley", which is what the name implies. Recall that "Delta" is a letter of the Greek alphabet. She is fourth in a row.


The manufacturer decided to produce all modifications of its compact electric cars on a single trolley with the same design. This will simplify the preparatory work and allow you to quickly launch the model into a series.

All cars will be equipped with electric motors and running batteries. Batteries can be charged from any external power source, but this is not the main "chip". Thanks to the solar panels installed on the Aptera body elements, the electric car may not need to be charged at all. Naturally, a number of conditions must be met for this.

According to the manufacturer, in clear weather, an electric car can get a charge sufficient for 64 km of run. This is the maximum number - if the sun is less, it will decrease. In theory, if you drive Aptera to work or just around the city, these 64 km should be enough without recharging.


In any case, the range of the car in the Launch Edition version is 644 km. And the electric car left on the street will be charged. It turns out that he needs 10 days to replenish the battery from zero to 100%. Excellent transport in the face of some kind of global catastrophe, involving the shutdown of communications.

The electric car is dynamic - up to 100 km / h it accelerates in 4-plus seconds. This was achieved through the use of ultra-strong and at the same time lightweight body materials. Plus, the model has a low coefficient of aerodynamic drag. They decided to limit the speed at around 162,5 km / h.

In 2024, Aptera Motors is going to produce at least 5 electric cars. Preliminary prices are stated from 1,78 to 3 million rubles in terms of our money.
