The inexpensive Geely Preface sedan is now available to the Russians - it is created on the Volvo chassis

Russian car dealerships have begun offering customers a luxury sedan from Geely. This is a Preface model that looks like a Volvo S60. The car can even be called conditionally budgetary - they ask for it up to 2,8 million rubles.


A used car with a low mileage of about 10 thousand km can be purchased even cheaper. For them they want in the region of two million.
Given that now they want 2,7-2,8 million rubles for the “top” modifications of the LADA Vesta SW after restyling, the Chinese sedan looks like a worthy alternative. It surpasses the domestic car in all respects, from appearance to technical characteristics.

Recall that under the hood of the restyled LADA Vesta SW now there is a 1,6-liter engine with a capacity of 113 hp. with. Naturally, the power unit is atmospheric.


As for the Geely Preface, since we have already touched on the engines, under the hood of the Chinese sedan there is a non-alternative turbocharged engine with a volume of 2,0 liters. It develops 190 hp. s., which indicates a slight forcing - and this is a hint at the durability of the power unit.

The Chinese sedan is based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform from Volvo and Geely. To make it clearer, it assembles such models from the Swedish manufacturer as the XC40 and C40. That is, it is really appropriate to say about Geely Preface that this is a Chinese copy of Volvo in terms of technical characteristics.

There are no longer luxury sedans from the Middle Kingdom in stock. Representatives of car dealerships say that several cars are on the way. All comers are offered cars under the order. The cost of up to 2,8 million rubles is declared for the new Geely Preface in the "top" configuration.


Recall that the Chinese sedan has a length of 4,8 meters, so it belongs to class D. The main competitors of the model are such well-known cars as Toyota Camry or Volkswagen Passat. Only the price of a model from the Middle Kingdom is significantly lower than that of competitors.

Given the fact that the car was created on a platform shared with Volvo, it would be inappropriate to call it Chinese trash. By the way, Geely Tugella, popular in Russia, is produced on the same “trolley”.
