Mazda Motors is considering different options for the development and maximum reduction in price, and the unification of its models. The manufacturer wants to build its own factories for the production of traction batteries. This will keep costs as low as possible, making Mazda vehicles competitive.
It is not planned to completely abandon the classic internal combustion engines, gasoline and diesel, at least not now. According to analysts, by 2030 the percentage of electric cars and hybrids in the company's model range should reach 25 to 40%. The fact is that a significant part of sales falls on developing countries. Electric cars for these markets are too expensive, and there is no corresponding infrastructure there.

According to development plans, by 2024 Mazda Motors plans to focus on hybrids of various types. In a couple of years, the company is going to introduce new electric cars. By 2030, they will dominate the lineup.
There will be no novelties either. In 2023, Mazda Motors plans to introduce a unique hybrid based on the Wankel rotary piston engine. In this case, the motor itself is not connected to the wheels. The power unit will turn the generator, which, in turn, will charge the running battery.
It has already been announced that a hybrid based on a rotary piston engine will be shown on January 13 in Brussels. They promise that the engine will debut on the Mazda MX-30 EV crossover. Recall that this car has been on sale in Japan since October 2020. Most likely, the model will be modernized especially for the debut of the rotary-piston hybrid.

As for the development and production of their running batteries, Mazda Motors is seriously going to take up this matter. Negotiations are underway with seven battery companies. These are mainly Japanese manufacturers, although Mazda does not disclose all the nuances.
The transition to the production of hybrids and electric cars for Mazda is vital. Their sales are growing exponentially. Analysts predict that automakers will sell more than 2025 million electric cars in 11. Literally in 5 years, this figure should triple.
So far, Mazda Motors has problems with electric cars. The manufacturer has only one such model - the Mazda MX-30 EV.
