What does KAVZ produce today?
At the peak of industrial growth in the USSR, car factories could not cope with the volume of orders. It was then, in 1958, that the Kurgan Bus Plant - KAVZ appeared. He was supposed to help GAZ cope with the production of compact and inexpensive buses that the country needed.

Already by 1960, 5 cars a year rolled off the assembly line. And the pace grew: by 1967, the bus plant had produced more than 50 thousand copies in total. The author of the video on the Technique of Time channel talks about the modifications of KAVZ - the line of cars was regularly updated. By the beginning of the 70s, from the outdated GAZ-51 base, the factory workers switched to the production of a bus on the GAZ-53 platform - KAVZ-685.

When the USSR approached the “point of no return”, the production of the next model, KAVZ-3976 (based on GAZ-3307), was mastered. The plant clearly kept pace with the times! The company tried to do something new, despite the general devastation. But alas! All attempts were in vain: for example, at the plant they tried to do something on the basis of the Gazelle. Even a later state special order for school buses could not pull the plant out of the economic "chasm". However, the main partner of the enterprise, GAZ, having barely recovered from perestroika, extended a financial helping hand to the partner. And today the plant is back on track! What does he release? Watch the video!
