The interior of the upcoming 5 BMW 2024 Series spotted

The photographers were able to capture the test footage of the future generation BMW 5 Series, which could be used to judge the exterior of the new car. But only now they were lucky enough to take a close-up picture of the interior of the car and consider some of its details. Of course, the interior is disguised no worse than the body, but some conclusions can already be drawn.

What's in the salon?

The first thing that catches your eye in the interior photos are two large screens mounted on the front panel. They are responsible for the instrument readings and the operation of the infotainment system, respectively, and are combined under a single curved glass. Due to this, it seems that we have not two displays, but one. You can see a similar solution in the closest competitor of the BMW 5 Series, namely in the new generation of Mercedes E-Class cars.



In addition to the screens in the cabin, a massive D-shaped steering wheel is noticeable. Looking more closely at the photos, you can see that instead of the physical keys implemented in the current model, there are touch buttons on the steering wheel. This is a rather controversial point, given that the driver definitely should not be distracted by finding the right key while driving, while the push buttons are easy to find and remember their location.

Another thing to look out for is the shifter, which has evolved into a mere shifter, at least in the test car. A similar solution has already been implemented in BMW iX cars, so this change cannot be called something unique.

Exterior

It is not yet entirely correct to judge the appearance of the novelty, since the exterior is carefully hidden under a camouflage film. There is reason to believe that we will see some changes in the headlights - they will become narrower than the headlights found on large 7 Series sedans. In some ways, this is good and gives the new car some originality.



The next generation of the BMW 5 Series is expected to debut in the second half of 2022, with the number 2024 in the name. The car is based on the BMW CLAR platform and will be sold in three specifications: ICE, PHEV and electric car. Also under development is an even more interesting BMW i5 M, which, according to unofficial statements, will be equipped with three electric motors with a total output of 750 hp. The cost of all available versions has not yet been announced.
