The main technical features of the Exeed Yaoguang crossover for Russia are revealed

The Chinese company Exeed has revealed the main technical characteristics of its Yaoguang crossover for the Russian market. The model will begin to be delivered to us in 2023 - it will receive all-wheel drive, a two-liter turbocharged engine and an eight-speed classic automatic transmission.


It is unlikely that in the Russian market the crossover of the premium brand Chery will be sold under the Chinese name Yaoguang. Most likely, it will be renamed, but how - is still unknown. Representatives of Exeed will inform about this additionally shortly before the official premiere of Yaoguang in Russia.

Judging by the fact that the technical parameters of the model for our market are exactly the same as for the Chinese one, the overall dimensions of the crossover will not change. Vehicle length - 4 mm, width - 781 with a wheelbase of 1 mm.


The manufacturer decided to abandon robotic and CVT gearboxes, opting for classic automatic transmissions. Exeed is trying to maintain the prestige of the brand by leaving cheaper gearbox options to Chery models.

For the Chinese market, the two-liter turbocharged engine will develop 261 hp. With. Most likely, for Russia, the power unit will be deformed to 249 hp. With. This is not related to customer care - the problem is in the peculiarities of customs legislation. Yes, and the demand for cars that are not subject to transport tax up to 250 liters. With. in Russia it is higher - no one wants to pay more annually for a dozen or one and a half extra "horses".

Exeed Yaoguang is made in the now fashionable cross-coupe class. The car features a stylish frameless grille and narrow front and rear optics, specifically stretched. The door handles are recessed into the body - they slide out to activate.


In different trim levels, the crossover will receive alloy wheels R18/19/20 to choose from. Exeed has not yet disclosed the interior features of the cabin, apparently, this will be done shortly before the official presentation of the production model.

The manufacturer promises to introduce a hybrid version of the Exeed Yaoguang later. What exactly will be the power unit in this case is not specified. There is no information about whether it is planned to offer hybrids outside of China.

In China, sales of Exeed Yaoguang will begin at the end of the fourth quarter. The model is planned to be exported only in 2023. According to information from the official representation of Chery in Russia, our market for Exeed is one of the priorities. But the crossover must first be adapted for more severe operating conditions.
