Surely, when you hear the word “electric car,” ideas about bizarre, oddly shaped cars filled with the latest technology pop up in your head. And what about the old and well-worn Zhiguli, transplanted to electric traction? Just such a project was made by enthusiasts from the “iling show” YouTube channel dedicated to automotive topics.
It took about one week for all the work, which once again proves that if you wish and with a minimum set of equipment, you can also assemble not such a “Frankenstein” in your home garage.
Electric Zhiguli were assembled as simply, cheaply and cheerfully as possible: the factory engine was removed, and an industrial electric motor was put in its place. Of course, such a machine does not need a standard transmission, so the electric motor shaft was connected directly to the crankshaft.
For more information about the creation of electric zhiguli for everyday use, we suggest watching in the video itself. Unlike many other channels, where the process of building a project stretches over dozens of episodes, the "iling show" shows the whole path from an idea to a result in just 12 minutes.
