This will at least partially cover the demand of commercial airlines, which are extremely interested in replenishing their fleets with ships of this class. Since the start of serial production of the other two contenders SSJ New and MC-21 expected only in 2024, the Tu-214 may be the only option at this stage.

One of the first customers of the new aircraft will be Aeroflot, which considers the Tu-214 as the main aircraft in its fleet. The demand for this medium-haul narrow-body vessel is dictated, among other things, by a high level of passenger comfort and fuel efficiency.
The machine is equipped with a PS-90 engine, which we already wrote about earlier. In the new version, the lighting equipment, the air conditioning system, and the interior layout received an update.
In the light of recent events, the needs of Russian companies exceed the capabilities of domestic aircraft manufacturers. Let's hope that healthy competition will lead to an increase in production rates and a reduction in the cost of airliners.
