ZAZ-969V - front-wheel drive van for Soviet delivery
SUVs LuAZ still plow the Russian off-road, although there are fewer of them every year. These small all-terrain vehicles with engines from the "Zaporozhets" became famous for their cross-country ability. Thanks to its lightness, LuAZ is able to drive where Niva and even UAZs get stuck.

Few people know about this, but at the stage of developing a civilian SUV, there was an attempt to make a delivery van for delivery and service industries. Then the car was also called ZAZ-969V and it was front-wheel drive. By the way, this is the first serial Soviet model of this type. Then the company did not have the opportunity to produce all-wheel drive vehicles. But ZAZ-969V received a power take-off shaft for connecting agricultural equipment.

The Zaporozhye plant produced two experimental ZAZ-969V delivery vans and sent them as tests for full-fledged work. Cars could easily carry up to 400 kg in the cargo hold. Due to the off-road chassis, borrowed from the front line military transporter, the model was suitable for rural use. Today, thanks to the author of the Ivan Zenkevich PRO Cars channel, you will see the restored ZAZ-969V van and learn a lot of interesting things about it.
