Few people remember such strange vehicles as motorized carriages. But they were produced in large quantities. They were handed out for free, but only to those who needed and deserved them - the disabled of the Great Patriotic War. First, tricycles - specific, more like a rickshaw. These were wheelchairs, not wheelchair-equipped models. And then more comfortable vehicles appeared, with a roof over their heads. The first such almost machine was the SMZ S-1L motorized stroller, aptly named "Cyclops" by the people for its single headlight.
The author of the channel "Ivan Zenkevich PRO Cars" managed to find and ride on this very "disabled car". The walk turned out to be unforgettable - the crackling of a two-stroke engine, puffs of gasoline smoke, fumes, noises, unplanned ventilation ... But for the early 1950s, it was an excellent technique, if only because it was free. It can be guaranteed that every Soviet "horseless" man would not refuse such a machine for the price of a motorcycle.
By the way, the engine here is the simplest - from the original M-1A "Moscow". This light motorcycle then became known throughout the Soviet Union under the brand name "Minsk".
