The very concept of "jeep" or SUV came to us from military life. It is in the military environment that it is simply impossible to do without a compact but powerful vehicle with a high level of cross-country ability. When people began to get used to a peaceful life, they realized that sometimes they can not do without them in everyday life. Especially if it takes place in places of domestic off-road. You can still find many of these now, and even more so in the post-war years. Therefore, the mid-50s was the time when cars with the 4x4 formula began to appear in the USSR like mushrooms after rain.
We can meet the subsequent developments of some of these machines on domestic roads today. Others, unfortunately, disappeared without a trace. Among the latter is the promising development of MZMA (AZLK), called Moskvich-415. They worked on it for more than one year, which is clearly evidenced by three generations of prototypes at once. The first was too similar to the American "Willis", for which the designers received a "cap". Therefore, the subsequent development received a completely new front end and headlights, in which a striking resemblance to the iconic Moskvich-2140 is guessed. After the sectoral ministry lost interest in this car, all activities on the "Moscow jeep" were curtailed. Now it is already very difficult to find such a model, but the authors of the Ivan Zenkevich PRO Cars channel managed to find and restore the Moskvich-415C, a prototype with rectangular headlights.
