How did the evolution of all-wheel drive motorcycles
Such a concept as an all-wheel drive car has long been generally accepted. It's a little different with motorcycles. It seems that two-wheeled vehicles are intended for a slightly different use and do not need to play the role of an all-terrain vehicle at all. But, perhaps, not everyone will agree with this. It is not surprising that already about 100 years ago, one of the British manufacturers made the first attempt to create all-wheel drive motorcycles. The idea of mass production of such devices did not take root, and for three and a half decades the prototype of the all-terrain vehicle remained the only model of this type.

Everything changed in the late 50s, when the Americans got down to business in 1958. Local inventor Charles Fehn created a special design of the Trail-Breaker, which was called a motor-tractor. Interestingly, even now, more than six decades later, this vehicle has its fans, including outdoor enthusiasts and army motorcycle units. After such a design gained its supporters, manufacturers began to experiment with options for its layout. Very wide tires and a permanent chain drive to the front wheel were used. You will learn about how this highly specialized motorcycle industry is developing today from the video from the Mysportbike channel.
