MAZ held a presentation of a van and a minibus

The Belarusian automaker showed the public two new models that will start selling in Russia in the next month. This is the passenger version of the MAZ-281040 and the cargo version of the MAZ-365022. Representatives of the company are confident that their products will be in demand in the domestic market and will be able to successfully compete with Russian and foreign equipment.

What is known

It should be noted that these are not new models, they have been produced by the Brestmash plant for several years, but earlier they were sold only in Belarus. The management of MAZ plans to sell at least 3-5 thousand units of each type annually, assembly capacities allow increasing volumes if demand is at the level of forecast indicators.


It should be noted that this is not an own development of the Belarusian plant, but a localized version of the Chinese model JAC Sunray. The companies have been cooperating for several years and plan to expand the range of small vehicles in the near future.

Model Features

The carrying capacity of the cargo version is from 760 to 1150 kg, depending on the modification. The compartment is 380x180x180 cm long and has a usable volume of 12 cubic meters. A feature of this series is the possibility of using different add-ons - for cargo vans to emergency services and ambulances.


The passenger series is designed for urban and suburban transportation and is offered in two versions: for 15 and 9 seats. In the second case, the car will have a spacious luggage compartment.

The suspension is independent at the front, spring at the rear, it is adapted for difficult road conditions and has a long service life. Another important feature is disc brakes on all wheels.

One engine option is offered - a 2,8-liter diesel turbocharged unit that produces 150 hp. With. According to representatives of the MAZ company, this is a variant of the middle price segment with a good level of comfort and convenient operation.


It is also known that the Chinese manufacturer JAC plans to present the same model under its own brand, it will be assembled in Kazakhstan. It is because of this that MAZ postponed the presentation from September to June. Due to this, it is planned to win time and conquer a certain part of the market. Minsk Automobile Plant intends to expand its dealer network on the territory of the Russian Federation, which will be a significant advantage, since customers do not have to travel long distances to undergo service.
