Geely Atlas Pro and Chery Tiggo 8: an alternative to the "Europeans"

In modern reality, cars of Western brands are no longer available in Russia. So what should those who planned to buy a Skoda Kodiaq crossover do, because it turns out that there is no other alternative! Or is there anyway? Kirill Mileshkin, a YouTube columnist for the Za Rulem channel, decided to conduct a face-to-face comparison of alternative options from Chinese manufacturers: Geely Atlas Pro and Chery Tiggo 8. Outwardly, both cars are in no way inferior to eminent brands, the interior is also in full order: both cars are comfortable and spacious, equipped with everything that required a family car. Geely Atlas Pro is equipped with a classic automatic and a 1,5-liter turbocharged engine that develops 177 forces. True, this is a three-cylinder unit.




Chery Tiggo 8 is equipped with a four of the same volume, but it only produces this smaller power unit: 147 horses. But it is combined with a preselective robot with two clutches: an economical option, both in terms of taxes and fuel consumption. By the way, the manufacturer allows the use of gasoline with an octane rating of 92! Chery Tiggo 8 is a more passenger-friendly car: the doors go over the thresholds, which eliminates the possibility of getting dirty. The convenience is also added by an electric tailgate and dual-zone climate control. In addition, the seven-seat Tiggo 8 is what big families need!



Geely Atlas Pro rides much more thoroughbred: the suspension is quieter, the car rolls less, the noise is better. Accelerating dynamics are also better in Atlas, acceleration to 100 km / h takes 10.3 and 12 seconds, respectively. Oddly enough, but the consumption turned out to be the same: during the test, both crossovers consumed 10 liters per 100 kilometers.
