Although the press recently announced that agreements with Renault have been reached and Duster will be produced in Tolyatti, it is more difficult to implement plans. The final decision on the transfer of production has not yet been made.
And in general, what is the point of doing this if the process has long been established in Moscow? The only logical explanation is an attempt to copy the car.
Although, it only sounds beautiful, and it will be difficult to establish production from scratch. So far, AvtoVAZ is making one completely domestic car - this is the Lada Niva Legend, and even that one has a number of foreign components.
The transfer of Renault Duster production to Tolyatti is a complex process that requires multi-stage preparation. First of all, you need to send a group of specialists who will inspect the equipment of the Moscow plant. They will determine the degree of wear, calculate the cost of disassembly and transportation.
In Togliatti, meanwhile, it is necessary to prepare the site, then assemble the equipment and connect it.
It is far from certain that the efforts made and the multimillion-dollar expenses will be justified - no one has yet canceled the economic sanctions against the Russian Federation. In light of the fact that even Chinese and Korean manufacturers are moving away from local assembly in favor of imported cars, the decision is not an easy one to make.

AvtoVAZ first of all needs to deal with the models that it makes - these are Lada Vesta and Grant. The market requires the fastest saturation with passenger cars, and the manufacturer cannot organize a complete import substitution of components and parts.
It would be strange to demand from AvtoVAZ to arrange the production of Renault Duster without having dealt with their models. Agreements with the French side in the light of economic sanctions do not solve anything.
It turns out that the release of Renault Duster in Togliatti is possible, but so far only in the long term.
