The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation approved the import of cars and spare parts without the permission of manufacturers

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and other official state structures of the Russian Federation approved the import into the country of products manufactured by certain brands without the permission of their owners.


A system of parallel imports has been launched in Russia. Prior to this, legal entities were not able to import goods into the Russian Federation in large quantities without the approval of the manufacturer. Today, a decision has been made, according to which most of the cars and parts for them produced abroad will bypass the Russian customs without any problems. A document has been published listing specific brands, including almost all companies that have ceased cooperation with the Russian Federation: GM, Honda, Ferrari, Daimler, ISUZU, Skoda, Subaru, Toyota, Land Rover, etc. - the full list can be viewed on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade . The same applies to spare parts, whose manufacturers include such well-known companies as Wabco, Bosch, Mahle and others.



It is also allowed to import unlimited tires from Bridgestone, Continental, Michelin, Goodyear.

"Parallel import" for an ordinary motorist

The import of cars and goods without the official approval of the copyright holder in the Russian Federation has been discontinued since 2009. Nevertheless, unofficially, cars and spare parts for them were imported through, for example, Kazakhstan or Belarus with registration as dummy natural persons. But this method of importation did not have a large scale. In addition, the “private trader” today can freely “import” cars or other permitted goods.



Simply put, nothing will change for individuals: the shortage of some car brands will not be solved by parallel imports. Unless fans of luxury vehicles can breathe easier. Premium cars will enter the country through, for example, Arab countries. At the same time, the payment of duties remains the same as before: it is economically unprofitable to import cars into the Russian Federation in large quantities.

Spare parts

According to experts, things are better here. The innovation partially solves the problem of repair and maintenance. However, the list presented is too sparse and mainly contains original spare parts, while they occupy only 20% of the market. Everything else is "non-native" parts and assemblies produced by third-party companies. Therefore, the list of companies producing non-original spare parts needs to be expanded.
