Volkswagen announced the imminent appearance of a new “charged” version of the Volkswagen ID.3 electric car in the GTX configuration. Representatives of the German brand said that the car will debut simultaneously with the restyling of the previous generation model.


Talk about the fact that the Volkswagen ID.3 will become all-wheel drive and get a new, more efficient engine, or rather, a pair of motors - on the front and rear axles, has been going on for a long time. And at the presentation of the ID.5 model, Volkswagen representatives spoke about the “charged” version. It should debut in 2023, going on sale a little later.

However, nothing specific was said about the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX. The manufacturer is not going to disclose any technical characteristics until the official debut of the model. They only confirmed that the electric car will become exactly all-wheel drive, and its power unit will differ from what is installed on the base ID.3.



Fans of sports lighters from Volkswagen hoped that the electric car will receive a pair of engines from the ID.X concept. This car was shown in 2021 to showcase the technical potential of the brand. At the same time, the manufacturer said that it was considering the possibility of equipping the future Volkswagen ID.3 GTX with these engines.
