Signs of shock absorber problems
In a fully serviceable car, only the sounds of a quietly running engine and the rustle of tires should be heard. All other "disturbers" of silence require attention. The sooner the cause of the appearance of extraneous sounds is identified, the cheaper the suspension repair will cost. But it's not just about saving money - driving a car with a faulty suspension is fraught with an emergency, or even an accident. Shock Absorber Symptoms:
- ✅ when hitting even a small hole, a sound of impact is heard: it indicates that the rack does not support the wheel
- ✅ vibration when driving on a flat road indicates a jammed shock absorber
There are other ways to diagnose. To get started, simply shake the car, which is stationary on level ground, pressing alternately on the front and rear fenders. If after exposure the car continues to “sway” in the vertical direction more than once, it is time to change the shock absorbers.
Choice of type of shock absorbers
There are two options - oil or gas. The former are softer and often cost less. Suitable for quiet driving in urban environments or on the highway without sharp maneuvering. Gas struts are rigid, it is advisable to install them if you prefer a sporty driving style. Such shock absorbers are not recommended to be mounted on a car that often drives on bad roads. This threatens with a quick failure of the suspension parts. There is also an intermediate option - gas-oil products - something like a compromise between the two described above.
In 2009, the automaker removed the anti-roll bar located in the front of the suspension from the Logan design (left on diesel and expensive trim levels). To compensate for the "loss" began to put stiffer springs and shock absorbers.
If you are not satisfied with the Renault Logan 2 model without a stabilizer, you can install it yourself within half an hour. The suspension will become softer. The manufacturer did not remove all technological holes, seats, fasteners. Enough to buy:
- ✅ stabilizer itself
- ✅ bushings and their brackets
- ✅ matching racks
If everything suits you, then “native” RENAULT 543022344R racks, or their analogues, are installed on a car without a stabilizer.
Choice of shock absorbers by manufacturer
Unless you're going to turn your Logan into something like a Formula I car, you're better off buying factory racks.
Original front shock absorbers for Renault Logan 2
For a second generation vehicle model, a couple of product packages may be offered. The first refers to the standard configuration and involves driving on high-quality road surfaces. The second type of shock absorbers is included in the “bad roads” package and differs from the first only in a slightly elongated (13 mm) stroke.
Front original pillar - it should have the inscription Dacia and Monroe. The average price of the original (gas): 7330 rubles. for Logan I and 7940 rubles. for Logan II. Photo: YouTube.com
Both types of racks are divided into three types according to rigidity (in brackets - the number of the original spare part from the configuration for the worst road conditions), marked with a dot of a certain color. Below are the serial numbers (articles) of products in order of increasing rigidity:
- ✅ 543020322R (543025333R) - gray color in both cases - soft racks, recommended for mounting on a car that constantly drives around the city
- ✅ 543024260R - yellow (543021712R - blue) - medium hard parts
- ✅ 543022905R - red (543020952R - yellow) - reinforced struts, suitable for cars whose drivers prefer a sporty driving style
When choosing, be careful: all the numbers and the colored dot must match. Shock absorbers from the manufacturer Monroe are installed on the conveyor. And what should you choose from analogues?
Bilstein
The article of the front shock absorber for Renault Logan 2 is 22235060. The German manufacturer offers a product whose stem is made of extra strong alloy steel that can withstand a load of at least a ton. In the manufacture of the rack, a multi-lip gland is used, due to which there are no vibrations in the longitudinal direction.
The company recommends inspecting shock absorbers every 10 thousand kilometers.
Sachs
The brand is owned by the German auto parts giant ZF. True, today most products are produced in China. However, the quality is top notch. Racks from Sachs are supplied to BMW, Audi, Skoda, Peugeot and other factories.
The company produces all types of shock absorbers - hydraulic, gas and combined. Reviews about the service life are the most controversial. Some products require replacement after 60-70 thousand kilometers, others argue that the racks do not withstand severe frosts and after a harsh winter, new ones have to be installed.
Kayaba
Despite the fact that the manufacturer is Japanese, its products are also popular in Europe. Racks are equipped with such well-known car brands as Peugeot, Seat, Ford and others.

Kayaba shock absorbers stand out for their high quality at a relatively affordable cost.
Rear shock absorbers for Logan
There is no longer a division into equipment for normal and bad roads. But there is a difference in the racks designed for mounting on cars with a body "sedan" and "station wagon".
In the latter case, longer (expanded) products with a smaller stroke are used. General data on original parts:
- ✅ for "station wagon" article 8200742812 (oil) or 8200953294 (gas)
- ✅ other body types - 562103901R (with a yellow mark) or 562106313R (with a red dot)
As for analogues, the same manufacturers that produce front pillars are the most popular in relation to the rear pillars. But there are good products from other companies.
SOUR
Romanian manufacturer of auto parts, known since 1924. All manufactured products are certified (TUV ISO 9001:2000, ISO TS 16949), which allows us to supply parts and assemblies directly to assembly lines.
The reviews are mostly positive, but there is an opinion that in cold weather (below -25 °) products do not work well.
Marshall
This Dutch company, founded in 2006, today produces spare parts for cars and trucks DAF, Volvo, MAN, Scania, Renault and others, with branches in Turkey, China, Malaysia, Spain.
The production of shock absorbers is carried out exclusively according to the original specification. During the manufacture of racks, automatic welding and components from the Japanese company NOK are used. Racks are filled with special oil, which retains its performance in the temperature range from -50° to +150°. All products undergo multi-stage control and comply with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025.
Features of shock absorbers for "Logan 2"
Ideally, it is better to install “native” parts (the average service life is 100 thousand km), but many car owners prefer slightly more rigid Kayaba racks. Some drivers recommend using shock absorbers for the Logan 1, citing an increase in ground clearance and an increase in ride comfort. Racks for Logan I and Logan II are interchangeable - it's all about the desired rigidity.
