New Toyota Noah and Voxy - minivans for a large family

The Japanese company Toyota presents to the attention of buyers a new fourth generation of two minivans - Noah and Voxy. Both models have been on the market since 2001 and have already earned popularity among family people, owners of suburban areas and anyone who needs a lot of space and spaciousness.


The novelties are built on the TNGA-C platform with an almost square shape, so there are no problems with space in the cabin. The machines are equipped with electric sliding doors, handrails and steps. The manufacturer also offers Welcab configurations adapted to the loading and transportation of a wheelchair.



Minivans will be available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Under their hood hides a 2,0-liter gasoline engine, working together with a continuously variable automatic transmission. As an alternative, Toyota offers the buyer a hybrid version, which is equipped with a 1,8-liter internal combustion engine and an upgraded electric motor with a battery.

If the design of the minivans is not interesting enough for the buyer, the new Noah and Voxy can be equipped with additional parts from Toyota's own tuners TRD and Modellista. From body kits and custom 18-inch wheels to auxiliary exterior lighting and door handle protection, there's something for everyone. This applies not only to the exterior - you can also “pump” the interior by installing a JBL sound system and even an air mattress.



Compared to previous generations, these vehicles have increased the C-pillar spacing by 75mm to 1295mm. This allowed to expand the available space inside. Minivans are 4695 mm long, 4695 mm wide and 1895 to 1925 mm high, depending on the version.

With a wheelbase of 2850 mm, the minivans have a practical floor in which there is a large storage box with a volume of 104 liters. The rear seats in the last row are retractable and can be folded with a single push to increase cargo space.

Budget trim levels get an 8-inch center screen, while higher-end models get a 10,5-inch infotainment display.



Both 2022 models are already on sale in Japan. Their cost ranges from 23 to 300 US dollars. Toyota itself positions Noah as the basic version, and Voxy as a unique minivan. As for the Russian market, it is too early to talk about the possibility of official import. It may well be that our car enthusiasts will have to be content with only "gray" import schemes. True, in this case, the cars will be right-hand drive.
