Copper plating of the engine instead of overhaul - will it help or not?

How to increase the compression and oil pressure for sure? To do this, it is necessary to reduce the gap between contacting elements, such as crankshaft journals and liners, cylinder walls and piston rings. If the motor has traveled far beyond 150 thousand km, then not only the liners, rings, but also the distribution, crankshaft, and cylinders wear out. It is necessary to reduce their diameter and increase the "girth" of the necks, cams.

How to do it? One way is copper plating. The essence of the method is that the engine parts - the crankshaft and camshaft, as well as the cylinder walls are treated with a special composition containing this metal. When it interacts with steel, a reaction occurs, as a result of which copper particles settle on the cams of the distribution and crankshaft journals, cylinder walls. It remains only to check together with the enthusiastic guys from the Garage 54 channel: is this really the case, as the manufacturer of the restoring composition assures?

For the experiment, they took a rather worn-out Zhiguli engine, where they initially measured the compression (it was equal to 6), the oil pressure, which at idle approached zero. Well, we disassemble the engine, copper shafts and cylinders, and assemble the structure again. We put everything in place and measure the characteristics again: the same oil pressure and compression. And what is the result? Watch the video!
