
KAVZ-3244 - "Bull" in the format of a small bus
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, with new by buses there was a tense situation. If the larger ones were somehow bought, then models like PAZ were not in demand at all. Nothing surprising - they were not needed in large cities, and in the periphery there was simply not enough money. A solution was found thanks to the efforts of the GAZ and ZiL plants. The former released the famous GAZelle truck, which soon became overgrown with modifications in the form of vans and minibuses. ZiL came out with its Bychok, which was larger, as befits a more powerful horned animal. Unfortunately, the Likhachev Plant miscalculated. Firstly, to drive the Bychok, you needed a truck license. The Gazelle could be driven with a passenger car category. And the diesel engine was chosen to be of Belarusian production, which increased the cost car and made the enterprise dependent on its now foreign partner.
And on the chassis of the "Bull" they produced small buses KAVZ-3244. Despite its awkward appearance, the equipment "came in", especially for passengers. Such buses were used most often on intercity flights and for transporting employees of enterprises. Sometimes there were minibuses. The latter, by the way, were much faster than the Gazelles in the same role. And the Minsk diesel engines coped better with the summer heat. And the author of the channel "Ivan Zenkevich PRO cars" will tell about KAVZ-3244.
