Some car owners are familiar with the situation when the engine “showed its fist”: the connecting rod broke through the block and went out. But what if you make the crankshaft rotate not on liners, but on bearings? Then he is unlikely to jam. Nothing is impossible: the most "stubborn" masters are trying to create something similar. For the sake of example, let's take a crankshaft from a "classic Zhiguli" and select the appropriate bearings for its journals. True, the part itself will have to be turned anew. The result is a disassemblable crankshaft, similar in size to the factory one. After inserting the bearings, you also have to do welding work to give the part rigidity and make it integral.

"Static" tests showed that everything works: it spins and turns. There were problems with the connecting rods, but they were adjusted. Now it's just a small matter: you need to install the "modernized" shaft in the engine and start it. And so we do. The engine starts almost immediately: the sound is unusual, soft.
